For the first ‘Hackney Interviews’, Hackney Live met up with Yinka Shonibare, MBE at his office and Guest Projects studio space based in Hackney. A Turner Prize nominated artist, Shonibare has become well known for his work exploring issues of colonialism, race and class through the media of painting, sculpture, photography, film and performance. In this interview, Yinka talks about his career, about working in Hackney and provides his advice for emerging visual artists.
